The 14-storey Omni Parker House Hotel is an a historic and impressive masterwok of craftsmanship of early 20th century , its lobby lined with dark oak wood paneled walls, glided coffered ceilings, ornate bronze elevators. Its culinary delights are equally famous : Parker house rolls, Boston scrod and boston cream pie originated here and are still served at Parker’s restaurant where President Kennedy proposed to his lovely wife Jacqueline at Table 40. The elegant mahagony enriched Parker’s bar holds the baton for having hosted the meetings of Boston’s 19th century literary club with members like Thoreau, Emerson and Oliver Wendell Holmes.
The 551 guestrooms still maintain the Boston Omni Parker House Hotel’s historic floor plans, Italian marble flooring, cherry wood furnishings and bed coverlets with the same patterns as the hotel’s original 1856 linens, even after being redecorated in 2005. Informational cards, photographs and paintings of the Boston’s historic figures are still featured in the suites.
